A Sunday in Richmond

Have you been to Richmond lately?

It's so lovely.

My bestie lives there and calls it home (good for her, sad for me).

We and our hubs (both named Chris, I might add) met for lunch last weekend on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and ate at The Lamplighter.

A few blocks from Cary St, this is a cute little place. Kind of hippie, kind of hiptster, very relaxed and a purveyor of friendly food options.  They offer breakfast and lunch, vegan items and...get excited...
gluten free bread!

Lucille's Bakery created the bread especially for The Lamplighter and people- it is DELICIOUS! Just crusty enough, holds together well and has the right amount of chewiness.

While enjoying the outdoor seating, I dined on: The Bianchi (Italian Meats loaded high), The Quilt (a BLT which is my all time favorite sandwich), a side of potato salad made with Vegenaise, hummus with corn chips and, to wash it all down, The Lamplighter's house made ginger ale.

I'm not sure if all of their sandwich ingredients are gluten free, and they were very busy when I was there- so definitely ask before you eat.  But I know I will definitely visit again when I'm in Richmond.
