So I have been trying to work more and more on my side projects, hoping to turn them into main projects.  I have lots of ideas, have tried many different projects, and realized I needed to simplify.  Partly because all of my art stuff won't fit in one room, and also because I was doing so many different things- but not a few really well.

I love painting, but I don't have the room to paint on big canvases.  So I've been working on 11x14 acrylic still lifes, for sale here.  I love sewing, but I had to go through my fabric and only keep materials I really love.  Turns out it's a growing collection of vintage and upcycled fabrics, and lovely corduroy and velvet from my grandmother's sewing closet and my grandfather's fabric factory in Virginia.  I've made a few totes, for sale here, and a few new stuffies, old collections you can view here on my blog for Tumblewild Art.

The other projects I'm really excited about and love creating are custom painted wedding invitation and photo mats.  Long name I know, but a really cool present.  It's a one of a kind painting, a keepsake and a personalized present.  They started with my grandfather, the great Roger Cross.  He was a wood worker for a long time and as he got older made beautiful, simple frames.  For wedding presents he would arrange dried flowers on a mat around the wedding invitation and frame it in one of his own.

I've updated the gift a little. I buy a custom mat from Stephanie who owns a local frame shop in Del Ray, Alexandria.  Then I sketch lightly and paint with acrylics.  You can give me an idea and direction, or I just paint my own design.  I'm inspired most my plants and flowers, it's amazing how many variations there are.  I will choose a frame or leave that up to you and just sell the matted version.

Email me at molliefrances@gmail.com for inquiries and orders.  So far I've worked locally, but am happy to send these along in the mail.

Happy Friday Eve everyone!

This is so unique. I have never seen anything like it before. Couples will certinly love to try out something new for their wedding since almost all ideas have been the same for weddings lately. :)
